In search of Tallboys @ IJmuiden (NL)

21 maart 2011

During the last week, our UXO divers were working in the harbour of IJmuiden.

Desk studies made clear that during the Second World War several “Tallboys” were used in the harbour of IJmuiden to destroy the German Kriegsmarine shelters.

Detection made clear that massive anamolies were detected, so divers were necessary to identify the UXO’s.

After a week work, during sometimes difficult circumstances (foul weather, large ships in the area) , all UXO were identified. The area is declared safe, no Tallboys were discovered.

Some pictures were added below to give an impression of the work.
